Musings of a Book Addict

I'm married to a scavenger of sorts and he often totes home rescued boxes of books that I paw through with shiny, hungry eyes. I pull out the odd and interesting and add them to my teetering stack.

Wars of the Roses

The Chronicles of the Wars of the Roses: The turbulent years of the last Plantagenets, seven kings from Richard II in 1377 to Richard III in 1485 - Elizabeth Hallam, Hugh Trevor-Roper Amazing and gorgeous images but the history is DENSE. You have to be really passionate about this time period in European history to get through this. I did really enjoyed the more mundane chapters about what every day life was like in this time period, but I really could not get into the intense details of who captained what ground troops in which land war. I also never knew the origin of the "Wars of the Roses," so that was fascinating to learn.
