Thanks to the beautiful drag queens at a Palm Springs, CA thrift shop, who thrust this book into my hands! I love listening to Sarah Vowell on NPR, but I am ashamed to say that I have never read any of her books. Well, I'm going to remedy that right away! I LOVED this collection of stories. She is so honest about her conflict around loving her country and being extremely disappointed in how things are going in the good old U.S. of A. She's an unabashed political history NERD and I adore how beautifully she writes about embracing her nerdom, and really in fact, reveling in it. She is a true national treasure!
