Musings of a Book Addict

I'm married to a scavenger of sorts and he often totes home rescued boxes of books that I paw through with shiny, hungry eyes. I pull out the odd and interesting and add them to my teetering stack.

Women of Our Time: 75 Portraits of Remarkable Women

Women of Our Time: 75 Portraits of Remarkable Women - Frederick S. Voss, Cokie Roberts Are there women missing from this compendium? Absolutely. There are a lot of white ladies in here. That being said, I adored this book. Not only are the portraits gorgeous, they are incredibly diverse - some more formal portraits and many artistic and "caught in the moment." Added bonus: I learned about many pioneering women that I had never heard of. It's not news that history in our public schools is notorious for leaving the ladies out and this book enlightened me on many levels. This one is a keeper, as I will definitely refer back to it for inspiration.
